You don’t know how much I’d love to have photos of the sushi I made with these soy wrappers—it was super fabulous—but someone left the camera on after pulling photos off it so the battery died.
I found these soy wrappers at an Asian market and forgot about them until today. They’re narrow, good for about 4 pieces (of cut rolled sushi) per sheet, and you really have to pull ’em tight so they don’t fall apart, but they are fun colors and I think that’s kinda the point. No, I have no idea how much they cost. Again, fun colors, kids.
Any worry about odd flavors is completely unnecessary. You don’t taste the paprika or spinach at all. The only thing that takes getting used to is that it doesn’t have the bite of nori. The wrapper is pretty much invisible—if visiblity was touchability. Intouchable? Your teeth won’t know the wrapper is there.
I saw online that you can get pink ones, and my package (unlike the one in the photo) had 2 of each color. Who knows what you’re going to be able to find in your Asian market or online. Good luck and happy sushi party.
