After a Labor Day weekend of running around, good little boys and girls deserve ice cream for dinner. (Then they try to take a decent photo with very little light.)
I’ve had a hankerin’ for a banana split, so in our errand running I made sure to pick up some Soyatoo and Soy Dream ice cream. I really had to fight hard to not get Coconut Bliss at more than twice the price, but Soy Dream’s pretty good too, not as soy-y as some of the others.
Because I’m still stocking up on work clothes, we spent far too much time than is healthy shopping. Before we freaked out completely we went to Macaroni Grill so I could try to use up a gift card I’d gotten for X-mas. They’ve got a create-your-own pasta option, and because we didn’t get any of the meaty things we were told we could pick as many vegetables as we wanted. It was still pretty bland—but free. We ended up eating so late in the afternoon that dinner was out of the question, thus leaving plenty of room in our bellies for frosty treats.
So that’s how we got to eat ice cream for dinner.
I have a question for the Portlanders out there: I seriously need a haircut and don’t know where to go. Are there any vegan salons ’round these parts? I’ve got plain ol’ straight whitegirl hair, so I’m not lookin’ for anything fancy. I just can’t remember the last time I paid for a haircut and figure it’s time.
